In a concept sketch of the rhino stampede, Kiara is seen with bright yellow fur and gray-colored paws. One concept of Kiara depicts her with dark brown fur and green eyes. Shani and Aisha were working names for Kiara. As a result, Zira's direct lineage and relationship with Scar was obscured to make her "just a follower." Kiara However, this created an incestuous relationship between Kiara and Kovu, and so was removed. Nunka was going to be voiced by Andy Dick, who ended up voicing Nuka. He seduced and later fell in love with Simba's daughter, Aisha (a working name for Kiara).
